Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These terms apply to Amharicly (“Amharicly”, “we”, “us”), the website and learning service at this address. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Amharicly provides online materials and tools for learning the Amharic language, such as lessons, vocabulary, exercises, audio and practice features. Parts of the service are free and parts may later be offered as a paid subscription. Features are added over time and may change.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the learning features. You must provide a valid email address, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. You must be old enough to enter into these terms where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything unlawful or to harm others;
  • attempt to access accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
  • interfere with the service, for example by overloading it or bypassing security;
  • copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the learning content except as the service allows;
  • use automated tools to create accounts or extract content.

4. Content and intellectual property

The lessons, text, audio, images, software and design of Amharicly are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own learning while you use the service. Amharic is a living language and no one owns it; the licence covers our materials, not the language.

5. Educational service, not advice

Amharicly is an educational tool. We work to keep the content accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose, and we do not promise any specific learning outcome or level of fluency.

6. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and may update these terms. If a change is significant we will make the updated terms available on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

7. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is being misused. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property and liability) continue to apply.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Amharicly is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law and contact

The governing law and venue for disputes, together with a formal contact channel, will be published on this page before paid subscriptions launch. Until then, these terms are to be read in a conservative, neutral manner and are subject to legal review.
